Same situation here.

Tomorrow is a new day =D! My poor phone… the constant checking for a missed called or sudden vibration. Grrr!

Got my phone call and acceptance letter today.

Keep on keeping on, I sincerely hope you all receive the same.

Smazz: congratulations! Did your letter come via regular snail mail? Also, where are you located? I’m surprised the letter arrived the same day that you got the call.

Smazz congrats! So exciting!

hi all logged into financial aid friday, received fedex express monday, received a pleasant call congratulating me and asking if the packet received me well today. v excited and good luck to everyone

congrats guys!!! smazz, were/ar you able to log into financial aid?

As we all wait with trepidation for the post, I would just like to ask everyone if Columbia University is everyone’s top pick. If not, which school are you holding out for?

Congrats to all future GSers!!

I was accepted for fall 2011, but deferred for personal reasons. I’ll be attending GS starting fall 2012! Hope to see you all in NYC and connect with you on Storybook!! :)

Note: I received my admission packet on 4/3. It was sent out through FEDEX on 3/30. I’m about 5,000 miles away from NYC, so it took a bit to get here. Also, when I was first accepted I received a congratulatory phone call from Ivonne Rojas notifying me of my acceptance and FEDEX package.

Congratulations to all!

Commence the anxiety attacks for the rest of us!

@Cos…heh the past few nights I’ve been waking up bi-hourly after these dreams of holding my cellphone and seeing private number on the front…my profs think ive gone off the deep end…haggard was the word one of them used. lol.

@afaz… I called and was told not all decisions have been released and I should expect to hear back by May 1st. Priority does go based on time of application. GRRRRRRRRRRR! I CANNOT WAIT THAT LONG! I sound like a little brat; however, the tension, suspense, and anxiety that is building up cannot be healthy. I will not survive>.<!

Yes, they’re not all done but I wanna hear back now I can’t wait til May 1st!!! Gahhhhhhh

Also: the first person on this board to find out that they were accepted submitted their application on February 15th – so it can’t be first come first serve because i know multiple people who submitted their applications in October and November!

So if decisions are made in order of the time of application and Jacqueline applied in mid-February, what does that mean for those of us who applied earlier than that and still haven’t heard anything?

My sentiments exactly, Fuzzy. But it cant be that everyone who applied before 2/15 is rejected. There must be some other things that play into the timing of decisions.

@Cos Thanks, goodness though, May 1? I’m not sure what I’ll do if I have to wait til 3 days before my AA commencement for the decision. x_X as some otaku friends would say.
That being said part I went in 2/11 and part 2 was finalized on 3/1 with my recs going final on 3/12 and 3/13…

My apps were in mid-November and my LATEST supporting document (second letter of rec) arrived/was processed on January 7th…

cosmic, what did you say when you called? I want to call as well but I don’t know what to say… so nervous… I am starting to get discouraged though. I had Pt. 1 and 2 in by feb 25th and my letters of rec by the 29th. However, my high school transcripts were not processed until Mar. 14th (due to the incompetence of the guidance office at my home h.s). I’m buggin!

Well, my letter of recommendation was processed on the 29th as well because of incompetence-_-…) I remember the representative telling me that it is done on a rolling basis, but said rolling basis depends when everything is submitted. It also takes them 1-2 weeks to piece your application together once everything has been received, so perhaps this is why some people hear earlier than others?

I can only make assumptions, though. I’m getting nervous now as well=/…

It’s really not at all first come, first served.

They generally look at those who get stuff in earlier, earlier. However for any given individual it may take a little longer or a little shorter. They may decide to schedule an interview. They may do a lot of things. There’s even a chance it will take longer than May 1. Either something will happen or they may decide to defer and wait for spring grades.

All I can say is just RELAX. Being super anxious about it really won’t help at all. Harassing the office, particularly this early in the month, won’t help.

Good luck!
