<p>I asked an admissions officer when this stuff would be released. He just said that they were still “crunching the data.”</p>
<p>I am a current student at Rice. I don’t want to throw out false facts so I won’t say what the number is as I remember. However, I can tell you the Rice Thresher newspaper ran an article on the large jump in selectivity this year. That is, more people applied and a smaller percentage of those people were accepted.</p>
<p>According to the Washington a post article on college admission rates for the class of 2018:
Rice University: 2,498 offers out of 17,720 apps, 14 percent.</p>
