Fall 2014 admissions data

Does anyone happen to know the following numbers for 2014?

Number of people who applied
Number of people admitted

those have yet to be released

Not yet…

Latest released is for FALL 2013 (Class of 2017)

I asked an admissions officer when this stuff would be released. He just said that they were still “crunching the data.”

I am a current student at Rice. I don’t want to throw out false facts so I won’t say what the number is as I remember. However, I can tell you the Rice Thresher newspaper ran an article on the large jump in selectivity this year. That is, more people applied and a smaller percentage of those people were accepted.

According to the Washington a post article on college admission rates for the class of 2018:
Rice University: 2,498 offers out of 17,720 apps, 14 percent.

This was the number mentioned by the admissions director on owl day this morning. They expect to enroll 945 freshmen
