@jemendez10 What @pocketsqman said is right. All the accepted people have no reason to comment anymore. All us waiting are just anxious. I keep trying to avoid CC because it helps me forget that I have yet to receive ANY notification. 8-|

@oldtransfergirl and @pocketsqman Emailed GS last week about the status of my application and have yet to receive a reply.

Called this morning and the lady said my application is still in queue and to wait 4-6 weeks for a notification. ???

I applied Early Action, so either that was her polite way of saying “you’ve been rejected, wait for a decision via regular U.S. postal service” or if that is her standard line that she gives all callers.

@jemendez I’m confident what you were told doesn’t mean rejection. It sounds like either you’re still in review or they still haven’t gotten to you yet. From what I know reading past threads, if you call them and they tell you a decision was finalized and then they tell you to wait for a notice in the mail, that typically equates to a sad letter.

The problem with all of this is that I have 3 schools waiting on my decison by May 1st. It’s looking like I may have to choose one of them by default since I am probably not going to hear from Columbia in time. Anyone else have this problem as well???

Hey guys. Did anyone who’s been admitted so far get a phone call notification, or has it only been by FedEx and email?

@Fiatlux20 I got an email and 3 days later I got the FedEx envelope.

Hi everyone, this morning I was able to log in to my financial aid account and later today I received a notification from Fedex saying that I have package scheduled for delivery on the 25th so I guess I’m in. @jemendez10 I called them on monday and the lady told me that I should hear back in 4-6 weeks as well so I think thats just a default line she has. Once again guys don’t assume that you have been rejected till May 1st.

no emails btw

A quick question for the Fall applicants. Anyone sent in a photo? If you did what type of photo was it, could i just print out a picture through a printer or do they want a actual passport like photo? I got a picture from my cellphone that I think will be a good picture.

If you’re in a situation where you have other offers you need to decide on, call GS and tell them!

To add to Campaigner’s comment, if you are have offers that need a final decision soon and need a decision to GS, ask them to expedite your decision.

To all of those who were accepted, which APS are you planning to go to?

received nothing, might get rej, GL and congrats

What’s an APS?

@ChristinaLiang If you’re going to submit a photo, send one that reflects your personality.

Hey guys & gals,

My name is Justin and I am a current tourguide with GS.

First, congrats to those who have received their acceptances! It truly is quite an accomplishment.

@pocketsqman (and others), the “APS” or “Academic Planning Session” is one of the next steps once admitted.
You can find out and register for an APS here: https://gs.columbia.edu/aps

In short, accepted students must attend an APS which usually consists of a campus tour, more information about transitioning to campus, a current student meet & greet, and meeting with an advisor to possibly review transfer credit and create a preliminary education/course plan.

Two of my close friends here @ GS were fellow accepted students during my APS - the three of us bonded because we were all from CA - so I encourage you to be social and exchange numbers.

About the photo IDs:
http://idcenter.columbia.edu/new-student-id-cards

I submitted mine and it was printed and ready for me during New-Student-Orientation-Programming in the fall. I would encourage you all to submit a photo so you don’t have to wait when you get to campus during all the hustle and bustle of the new year.
“guidelines” about the photo submission can be found in the link above and they will let you know if your photo does not comply.

Hope that helps!
