This seems really odd that they would release admissions results for IMPACTED majors in December, especially since the supplements for these majors aren’t even due until early January. Secondly, it seems even odder that they are not in the service area. Also, it’s really hard to believe that someone was accepted into mechanical engineering with only a 3.18 weighted gpa (unless he meant 4.18?), other than that it seems pretty fishy to me.

S received an email from admissions. Never received anything about a supplement. 3.18 is in fact his csu gpa. Also, we are in-state but not local.

"Dear xxx,

Thank you very much for applying to the College of Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. Based on your excellent academic record, the College has recommended you for admission. As a reminder, your admission will be provisional, and you must meet all deadlines as required by the Office of Admissions. Check your email regularly for messages from Cal Poly Pomona, and view your official admissions notification status in January by logging in to BroncoDirect."

Correction: Email came from the College of Engineering, not “admissions”.

^ Does the application status on bronco direct say provisional admit or does it still say application received?

^ not sure if S checked bronco direct since email said status will be updated in January.

Exciting! From previous posts here on CC, I think if you got the emails like that, recommending you, and the Honors Program invite emails, you are in!

Congrats to everyone. I know my son is happy to know he is wanted by a school he had interest in and offers his top choice of major.

Yes, my son received the same email from the Engineering Dept, he had not completed the supplemental application yet, but did so after receiving this email.

We are not in the service area for CPP, our service area schools are Fullerton and San Marcos.

Impacted majors don’t really consider your service area, which explains why people from outside of it got admitted. Service areas guarantee admittance to non-impacted majors for applicants meeting minimum requirements. In my opinion, CPP is the best CSU along with SDSU in SoCal, so congrats on getting in!

Now I’m just wondering how long I would have to wait… I though that they started admitting kids who had the highest EI and just worked their way down the list until they reached the cutoff score, but I guess not…

Oh and congrats to everyone so far!

Im from nor cal. Doing college of science, no email yet. I noticed on two sites we find out in feb for impacted and non is in March. Can someone confirm this?

Transfer student from local service area (mt. sac)
GPA: 2.95
Major: Business Admin accounting/finance (non impacted)

Haven’t heard back yet, but hopefully I’ll get in. I heard they’re pretty lenient with people in the service area, but I just want some closure already.

@witter17

Looking at the older threads from past transfers, you and me could potentially be stuck waiting until April or something. It sucks but I hope spring semester can help take your mind off waiting as it hopefully will for me.

When I applied, I found out in March. Some people I know found out in June.

The wait was excruciating.

Thanks for the heads up. The wait is killing me…

So I just got a notification in bronco direct that my application is now incomplete, and that I will need a final high school transcript, yet it still says application received…Did anyone else get this?

Me too. Hmm but transcript is required after were admitted. The due date is July which is after high school. I think this might be a good sign that we might have been admitted to the school? Can someone clarify this?

Just had my son check his account and it says the same thing. He was also invited to apply to the Honors college like you coastercrutch so maybe they are in the files making their final determination.

After reading this thread, my son’s account also states INCOMPLETE and HS Transcript due by 7/15/2014. Anyone going to the Honor’s Showcase on the 25th?

Hmmm hopefully… I mean they wouldn’t ask for I final one if you weren’t accepted right? haha:p

Anyways… (Raises hand) I’m going to the showcase!! haha

Who else is going?
