@xpurplex my son applied back in November 2013

I was accepted into UB with the $30,000 Provost Award as well. I do not remember having to apply for the Honors College was there a separate application?

Those of you that received Provost scholarships, is that 20K, 30K, etc for one year, or all four? My D received 12K/year Provost and got Honors College package yesterday.

@Happy4Him4 Thank you, you were certainly right! I was offered a place in UB’s Honors College, I received the package a few days ago.

@Berricre8v My scholarship amount was, unfortunately, the total for all four years. It was one of the smallest I’ve received, so that might have an impact on my ultimate decision regarding where to attend school. So, a very big congratulations to both you and your daughter! What an accomplishment on her part!

@Berricre8v Congrats to your daughter! $48,000 for 4 years is so awesome for a Provost! That would pretty much equal a Presidential Scholarship of which they only offer 25 to the incoming Freshman class! So great for her!
@anndean Congrats to you on your acceptance to the Honors College! Since UB is a state school they do not offer large merit based awards, and more likely spreads the wealth among the masses. Since you received $30,000 that is one of the larger Provost amounts! So that is so awesome for you! The Honors College is an awesome opportunity!

Wow, thanks. Congrats to you all as well.

I would also like to point out that UB seems to treat its admits really well. As an international student, I was impressed by the way they welcomed me into their community. Even the international orientation calendar seemed pretty awesome compared to other schools.

when do we receive financial aid packages?

anyone who applied that hasn’t received any decision yet?

Yes! I have applied as a transfer and I am still waiting for a decision. Have any transfer received decisions yet?

@confused33, I received my transfer acceptance letter around march 6th.

Thanks! Congrats! I received my acceptance letter around March 16th

You too! Where are you coming from and how’d you like UB?

Thanks! I am coming from a liberal arts college. I visited UB and I love it. The campus is a lot bigger then my current college so it will take some getting used to. There are a lot opportunities on campus and I like how easy it is to get from North to South campus. Also there are a lot of stores, such as CVS,which is very helpful.

@Berricre8v that’s awesome! Congratulations to your daughter! Do you mind sharing her stats? (SAT scores, class rank, etc)
