@lindyk8, I thought the app process was nerve-wracking, more specifically planning the classes I needed to take, the personal statements, and the WAITING. I wanted to make my personal statements perfect for ucla and cal, so I was really anal and just simply “on it.” The waiting was definitely the worse. In the end though, I was soooo incredibly happy. I can’t describe it. i hope everyone gets to feel the elation and heart stops that come with acceptance notifications.

how was it for your daughter and you? :)

Is it better to have 60 units when I apply for transfer? I mean…I will have over 60 units after spring term but when I apply for transfer, I will be little below 60 units. Is it really matters?

@SYJ669

You want to have 60 units by the end of spring. This is VERY important.

Doesn’t matter if you have less than 60 when you apply. What does matter if that you have 60 by the end of the spring term prior. There is no leeway with this. You have 59 units completed, your admission will get rescinded.

@randombookie everything you said exactly. Since her advisor kept dropping the ball at my daughter’s school (some are probably good, but she didn’t have one), I basically took on the advisor role. The worst was leading up to the application and then after, constantly thinking something might have been overlooked. She told me to chill but I kept rethinking it all. I really wish I could be the type that truly thinks it’s a sure thing, because I never did. I remember when she got her first acceptance - Riverside. It came really early and was totally unexpected. So that took the edge off. But that lonnnggg waiting period for the final ones was so nerve-wracking. When she got UCLA she was in the other room and screamed, then I started to cry. She said she didn’t think she was going to get it, and I just thought it could go either way.

@ocnative @k4201505
I will definitely have 60 units end of spring.

Hey fellow hopefuls, am checking in as a 2015 Sociology transfer for UCLA.

@2016Candles may be able to help you; she transferred to UCLA as a sociology major this year. Good luck!

Welcome!

(? I am not sure that is the correct greeting, since I think the next 9-10 months will be an anxiety and speculation fueled roller coaster of emotions, crying, and ice cream)

but hey, its fun to share the experience right?

@Cayton @2016Candles Thanks m8, and Congratulations to both of you, I’ve seen your names plenty in the 2014 thread while lurking.

No questions from me atm, but it’ll be sure to change in a few days once the apps are open haha

@JustinUC

Don’t hesitate to ask questions. We’re to help. :)

@Lindyk8 @2016Candles Why do you think JustinUC is from England/Australia ?

He used the term “mate”. That’s very Ausie :-)
