I am applying to CAS a sociology major. When will the decision be ready? The waiting is wrecking my nerves
@calvinwong Here are the past dates from 2011-15: 4.14, 4.22, 4.28, 5.5, 5.12, 5.19
Sorry… Wrong dates. Those were for Northwestern. Here are for Penn 5/12, 5/10, 5/13, 5/5, 5/5
@owenrider Wait, so it won’t be on a Friday most likely? Mondays and Tuesdays are more likely?
@calvinwong I am not sure, but here are the data.
Is anyone in this thread also applying to Wharton as a sophomore transfer?
It will probably be the 5th like last year and @maxa964 you would have a better shot contacting Northwestern and asking them for an extension to make your decision.
@capemaycrazy I am!
5th of May?! That’s 2 weeks from now oh my god haha
@transferind97 It’s exciting, isn’t it?! I can’t wait to meet the new transfer cohort very soon!
@YonceKnowles is it possible to get in with a relatively low sat score? Could you chance me please?
Chancing people is useless because anyone could get in and anyone could get rejected. I’m not in admissions, so I don’t know why they would reject or accept one applicant over another. You have a great GPA, and there are people who have gotten in with similar test scores (myself included :)). But, at the end of the day, no chance me feedback will provide a hint of whether or not you will be accepted. But in regards to standardized testing, there are people who have gotten in with your scores, and I am one of them.
@YonceKnowles yeah that was what I was worried about. I’m just hoping they won’t consider too much of an exam that I took way back in 2014 haha
@owenrider That would be a bit scary hearing in the middle of a week. I mean it takes few days to process the decision no matter what. lol
@yuzuru19 where r u wanting to leave?
@AT1887 hi me too. i’m applying to wharton as a junior. Which college do you currently attend?
Hi guys, I saw this on facebook:
Penn Transfer Student Organization
7 hrs ·
To our future Quakers!
In coordination with Penn Admissions, TSO will be hosting our annual Transfer Open House on May 7th from 9:30-3:30! This will be a great opportunity for newly admitted students to learn more about the transfer process at Penn, hear advice from current transfer students and admissions staff, and tour Penn’s campus! More information will be forthcoming.
We hope to see you there!
I think it is very likely that our decision will be released on May 5 like last year or even earlier.
Oh wow. I think it will be earlier.
Yea this seems to imply earlier than May 5th. If you were accepted on May 5th and then told there was an event on May 7th most people couldn’t attend on such short notice.
UC Berkeley’s admitted students reception is also on May 7 and they will release decisions on April 39. Probably similar for Penn. They should notify students one week ahead so people can plan to come.
