@rainbubble Nah don’t let their little terms discourage you, they must define impacted partly based on how many students apply or something. I really want to get in as well; I’m so tired of being a community college student.
Most of the students on this site are self-selected; far fewer people with poor ECs are going to want to make posts about them xD I browsed both the UCLA and UCB threads from last year; tons of kids got in with weak GPAs and ECs, I was actually surprised by what I saw. Our numbers are mighty and our majors have a reasonable admit rate, the situation is nearly optimal
Do they check your application at all before the TAU? because in my comments about why I dropped a class I said something, that I’d like to change but I dont want it to be held against me
Hey guys, I have few questions about the transfer major prep for Mathematics for Teaching.
So on their website all the math majors are required to finish pretty much all math and one introductory course. Which I did.
And for Mathematics for teaching specifically it says one discrete structures course. Is that the same course as discrete mathematics? Or is it talking about data structures? Because I haven’t taken any data structure classes yet, but I will be done with my discrete mathematics.
And lastly it says I need to take two additional courses from calculus-based physics, general chemistry, or computer programming. So I already took general chemistry 1 and will be taking Java programming during spring 2017. Does that meet the requirements or do I specifically have to take two courses from physics/chemistry?

Just wanted to see if I have a competitive resume.
Also if anyone’s resume was similar to mine and was admitted I would like to hear about your process.
Thank you and good luck to everyone.
ok so I was doing my Updated application for UCLA and it asked me if I’ve completed a Transfer pathway…I’m pretty sure that I did but how do I know if my CCC courses count towards the certain area for the UC? Like they want a 20th-century History class but my school doesn’t have that so I took Women’s history but we focused on the 20th century, etc. I have two classes that I am confused about. how do I check?
@eruditehooper Everything will show in one format, including application, email responses, essays, tau - so yeah, it’s all there - all data (incl comments) collected in one location
If you’re saying you’re adding a new comment, then yes, they’ll see both. If you’re saying instead you want to go in and change an earlier comment, I don’t think you can do that.
@Orlando1997 your GPA and EC’s are really good, I’d say you’re at the top of the competition
EDIT: wait, just checked the 2016 admissions profile for pre-economics and the 75th quartile average GPA was 4.0. but since it’s only one class you got a B in and your major GPA is a 4.0, you should be fine, especially because of your EC’s in my opinion.
“Admitted transfer applicants: You will be asked to submit official transcripts from all schools and colleges you have attended, including high school, regardless of your length of attendance or whether you believe the credit is transferable. Some campuses may request transcripts prior to admission.”
Just reading the UC site and saw this. So do we have to send our high school transcript if we’re accepted?
I was required to send mine to Berkeley two years ago and my brother sent his to UCLA before me. This thread from 2008 says the same thing, so I don’t know if they ever make exceptions. Isn’t AP verified by College Board? They want the scores, not the classes, right?
