Fall 2019 Transfer Admission

I got in! im pretty surprised though. My college gpa was a 3.7, but I only had 13 credits done at umbc.

I got in
credit: 17 complete(with calc), 14 in progress(with engl)
gpa: 4.0
SAT: 1440
HS: good enough, we dont have gpa system(international student)
major: CS, currently L&S, need to send another transcript to get into CS
2 rec letters, a very good essay

Same, I’m also at UMBC and only have around 17 credits done. Congrats! @blemaster17

Hi, I received a letter back from UMD yesterday stating that they wanted to see my current semester grades/final transcript before June 10th in order to make a decision. Is this good or bad news?

I am at an instate CC and have applied before the priority deadline. I have a 4.0 with 17 credits (15 credits currently in progress with a 4.0 as well) decent essay/ great letter of rec. EC’s- I am Vice President of two different major campus organizations and other amazing ec’s.
I went to one of the best private high schools in DC with a low gpa.
I am wondering if this letter from UMD is bad news? Or should I be excited about a later acceptance?
Thanks

Accepted into USC and Tulane already from OOS

Has anyone been able to login to check financial aid or know when we can?

@Magefire119 no! that is not a bad thing at all. I am also applying as a fall transfer to UT Austin and because of my specific credit situation they require the same thing of me and I won’t hear back until the latest June 15th.

When do y’all think the second batch will come out? Monday or Tuesday?

Does anyone think if I were to try appealing with a diagnosis in ADHD, Depression, and Anxiety that my decision might have a possibility of being changed? because I didn’t realize this was after my submission but I got diagnosed with all three and I think it played a big role in my grades being so poor this past year.

@Marylandpride I tried to appeal last year when I got was rejected as a Senior in High School, they did not change my decision even after I provided medical documentation and bills.

I haven’t gotten my decision letter yet and I applied 1/29. My high school GPA was a 3.8UW and a 4.2W. I only have 12 credits from an out of state school and my GPA was a 4.0. My SAT was a 1170, what do you guys think my chances are?

what were your high school stats? @unimdst

Since I didn’t get my decision yet I decided to go to the campus and talk to an admission counselor. The lady who helped me confirmed that they had all my documents and that she’s not sure why it hasn’t been reviewed yet. She put my application on “clean up” which is priority review so luckily I’ll hear soon. I would suggest anybody else who hasn’t gotten their decision to call or go in if you can

I found out that there was a mishap with a transcript from another school but, the admission counselor said I should receive a decision in 7-10 business days. Everyone wish me luck!!

I submitted my application on Feb 14th, and sent out my high school transcript that day too, but when I checked coalition app it doesnt say it has been received, and the final application hasnt been received. Im not sure what to do?
When I checked with the high school counselor she said it has been sent out

@maryland3233 I would definitely call the admissions office to get it sorted out. They’ll check for what they got and what they’re missing from you

I went onto the transfer admissions website and they said decisions are out so I’m really starting to worry that they haven’t received my transcript. I’m going to email them and figure it out. I’m assuming that decisions aren’t actually coming in separate batches now??

@yikestm I’d call instead of emailing. They take weeks to respond and sometimes don’t respond at all. When I went to the admissions office I overheard several people talking about how they haven’t gotten their decision yet. I highly recommend going in if you can or calling and having them check over your application

@jtaylo86 thanks, I sent an email but I’m definitely gonna call then because I don’t have time to drive up. I’m kinda glad i’m not the only one that is experiencing this

Im going to call them tomorrow morning because I still haven’t received my decision. I emailed them last month because of a transcript problem but they ensured I’d get priority review. I hope that is still happening.

I hope everyone gets the admissions issue solved! Has anyone gotten their financial aid yet? How long does it usually take?
