I hope UMD is happy! Talked to a counselor on the phone and there is no way I’m getting my decision before July even though I applied 2/24. There’s no way I’m attending this school now as there is no way in hell I’m waiting until July for a stupid decision. This school was so unorganized and I guess it’s a sign that it’s just not working out for me to go here. I’ll be hearing back next month or early June from UT. Wish me luck guys. Good luck to everyone attending UMD or still waiting to hear back. I wish I could say the same.

The admissions counselor replied to my emails quick and told me as soon as they received the verification from my other school I would receive an admission decision in 7-10 days . My other school sent the verification on monday, do you think i’ll have to wait the full 7-10 days or should i call?
Anyone talk to the LEP department on how we’re going to be able to enter Compsci?
I got in as well. Did anyone get financial aid info? If not when is that coming out??
Hello All. Recently I received an email last night from the office of undergraduate admissions stating that I was “prematurely placed” into my LEP program for Journalism and they were changing my major to undecided. They changed my acceptance letter to say undecided for my major, AND didn’t change the date they changed it. luckily, I have a copy of the original letter, and I have been calling all day to deans and presidents and admissions counselors to try and fight this. I was writing this to see if this has happened to anyone else, because the admissions office said apparently they got 3 calls that morning concerning this same issue. If this has happened to you, let me know, so we can link up and figure out the next best course of action. But, besides that, congrats to all who got accepted! I look forward to meeting y’all in the fall!
@SMTransfer2019 hey there, I also received an email last night concerning the same issue. I called this morning so I was most likely one of the 3 people who they were talking about. It’s very concerning considering that they’ve already placed us in the LEP major of choice. Have you gotten any information as to why this is happening??
@yikestm I got my financial aid today, they were actually pretty generous! I qualified for work study and got a need-based grant.
@blvcktea I would be so down to have a transfer group chat, actually should we make a transfer facebook group?

@yikestm It was on my financial aid portal through UMD, I got an email that told me how to get it all set up and stuff 
Thanks, just checked that. They somehow don’t have my FAFSA which is kind of annoying but I will be sure to call Monday because it was sent.

@lycoris I was thinking discord since it’d be easier to organize and chat with people I like Facebook. I’m probably going to check on the UMD reddit if anyone is with the idea too lol. People there say it’s hard for transfers to make friends so a group chat might help us out.
Also I wish I could go to Maryland Day but I’m still stuck in NC 
@SMTransfer2019 @flotussin I got the exact same email for my Psychology major and they changed my acceptance letter as well. In the email, they said to send them my final transcript once i’m done with my “gateway” courses so they reevaluate my admission to my major. I’m extremely annoyed but I haven’t called yet.
@lolhalp yeah that’s exactly what mine said too. I emailed the person back who emailed me but I have yet to get a response, and nobody in admissions seemed to know what was going on with the situation so I wasn’t even able to get any actual answers to my questions. it’s just a waiting game at this point but i’m super annoyed too because i was excited to be admitted into the major i chose. if you guys get any updates lmk!
