Any transfers out there…? 0:
Me!
Do you know when they typically release Decisions? What’s your transfer story?
ccc student, around may 15 usually
what about you?
And did u manage to interview/do a video?
Yup! transfer 2019 cc student
did the interview and video interview.
@citytech99 Cool! I did the interview, but opted not to do the video. DId you happen to get a request for your social security number on your portal? I’m fairly certain I filled it out in the common app but I guess it must have been a mistake on my part.
Also what major did you apply as? I applied as econ personally
@pozzle i didnt get a request for that yet, yikes! I did send in my mid term report idk how that relates felt like sharing. I applied as chemistry (1st) since i have strong grades in chem and then second was econ-engineering
hoping for the best had a really nice interviewer and i like california alot know a couple people at the school currently
@pozzle y didnt u do the video lol just another chance for you to show them you want to be at their school??
had some medical stuff that came up, ended up getting surgery just yesterday and was too stressed out the weeks before. I didnt feel like I could put out a video that I’d be proud of sending given the situation.
regardless, the ssn thing means nothing im inclined to believe.
did you apply to any of the other claremont colleges?
@pozzle oh ok i totally understand your situation damn hope ur feeling better.
I asked someone who attends CMC what colleges were the ‘best/easiest’ to apply to and CMC and Pitzer stood out. Pomona had a very early deadline which i knew wouldnt allow me to really to be my best self and send in strong mid term grades so i opted for those two instead. I shouldve applied to Harvey Mudd but the stats for that college, and I hate using stats since i feel they’re very dehumanizing and comparative, were very steep.
Hoping for the best lol
@citytech99 I did the video as well! It was kinda hard in my opinion to just talk straight for two minutes and actually get a clear point acrosss in such a small window. Guess that’s the point to an extent. What prompt did you chose ?
@pozzle feel better and gl with the surgery recovery! I think having an interview is “equal” to doing the video bc they get a sense for who you are and the way you present yourself
Thank you guys, I actually am 70% gonna withdraw my app so I hope that helps everyone else. I’m not sure I can justify the CMC cost, as much as I love the school.
And yes, I heard the video is a replacement for those who cant/couldnt interview. I think having a fantastic interview and video is def ideal tho
@pozzle ive heard that financial aid at CMC is pretty good (made sure to do a bit of research regarding that matter for schools) mybe wait until acceptance or denial to know you should withdraw. especially since u put that much effort in.
@laracroft12 choose the ‘easiest’ which was the 1st one on how I hope to contribute to the CMC community.
It allowed me more options in regards to approaching the question in the 2 minute duration. Found myself actually having to cut more than add, which I like. mentioned things such as being a part of the Environmental Center, writing, and doing track. I have quite a bit of interests that I am hoping to pursue at the school
Hey ya’ll! Did anyone hear anything back yet?
Not yet…I read online somewhere that decisions come out around May 15th. I’m super nervous. This is my absolute dream school and I’m going to be crushed if I can’t get in.
I got an email from CMC asking to clarify why my IDOC Verification Statement and FAFSA say that my household number is 3 but my CSS says 4.
I do have a sister, but she graduated from college recently so I must have forgotten not to count her when filling out the CSS. I’m sure them contacting me about this is nothing, but I wonder why no other school that I’ve applied to has asked me about this.
From what I’ve seen, this late in the process it is a good sign that they request information. They’re finalizing decisions and financial aid is the last step for accepted applicants. Goodluck!
