Fall '23 Transfer Chance Me

First Year at a MI Community College, majoring in CS applying for the Fall’23 cycle.

Demographics & Location: Male, in MI

GPA and test scores: CC gpa 4.0

HS gpa 3.7 UW, 4.2 W

32 ACT (35 math, 30 science, 29 english, 35 reading).

High School class rank top 7%.

EC’s: currently a SEO intern, contributor to open source projects, member of CC honors society, did research with professor who will write my loc, leader of a stem club at school. Next semester I want to be a PTK officer.

I have 19 credits right now, I plan on having just over 35 credits after winter’23

Should I submit my ACT score, or go test optional?

Would appreciate your opinions on my chances, and any advice for my apps would be great.

I think you have a great app. I know they are hard on students with fewer college courses but I feel as if you will still be very competitive. Great EC’s and you’ve done everything you can at CC. In state helps too. I’m not sure about the ACT, you are in Umich’s range so I don’t see why it couldn’t hurt. Good luck!

Demographics: Male from Michigan State University, 96 Credits (I want a fresh start and major change)

Major: Shooting for LSA Econ, have the requirements and some upper level Econ credit to bring along if admitted

College GPA: 3.98
HS GPA: 3.7 UW 4.1 W (don’t know how much they will consider this)

Test Scores: Not reporting

EC’s: F500 Internship, working through school, a club, tutoring on the side, one charity, a couple hobbies

Essays: Decent but probably not going to be NYT best sellers

Letters of Rec: 4, one from HS coach, one from long-term employer, two from professors

Hoping that it works out, I would really like a chance to get a fresh start at a school like UMich. Good luck and wishing everybody all the best.

Update rejected

Their website indicates that decisions for transfer students begin in mid-march and end in mid-april. How did you get your decisions so soon?

I applied pretty late… submitted my application on Feb 6 and everything on my checklist says it has been received (application, proof of high school completion, my dual enrollment transcript), but my MSU (currently a freshman) transcript still says “awaiting” even though I received an email saying it has been viewed.
I am in my first year at MSU currently have 37 credits because of high school, so I am a sophomore standing. I will have 51 credits after this semester.

Stats:
3.8 GPA at msu
4.1 GPA in high school
in-state
major: bio LSA
no letters of rec

Do you think I have a chance even though I applied late?
