Fall courses count toward transfer admissions decisions?

The university i’m looking to apply to transfer to in the spring opens its application on august 1, if i send in my application, when it opens, would i have to wait until i finish my fall semester and my grades are final to know if i’ve been admitted to the university? or would they make a decision based on my previous courses only?

Just like with freshman admissions, transfer admissons are technically still provisional until the college/university receives and reviews the final transcript after the end of the semester or quarter. You are admitted based on the strength of your current transcript (and possibly a mid-term report if that is also required), but your acceptance can be rescinded if your final grades fall by too much.

So yes, you should know whether or not you have been accepted before the semester ends, but you can’t slack off on your studies. If you do decide to drop a class, or need to withdraw for a medical reason, you need to discuss that situation with your transfer-to college/university.

Thanks so much, that’s what i was hoping to hear
