Fall of 2011? Help!

I know there are tons of threads already asking opinions on admissions, but I'm seriously worried about getting accepted. I have a decent cumulative gpa but my track record early on isn't that peachy. I started out with Fs and Ws at my cc but replaced the Fs recently. My past four semesters are what really pulled me up...

So right now I have a 3.65 cumulative gpa with 40 credits, and I'm set to receive my associates in the summer (way after I turn in my transfer app). I'm also out of state, even though I live only about twenty minutes away in VA. I've been working non-stop since I turned 16, so I have no extra-curricular or volunteer experience (except for a couple clubs in high school, ages ago).

I guess my biggest concern is this: If I apply as a transfer student for 2011 Fall, what are the chances I get accepted with a track record like mine? I've dramatically improved (earning 3.6 - 4.0 in the past couple semesters) but I still have that depressing history.

Any feedback is welcome! Thanks in advance.

You’re never going to get in and it will be the end of the world.

I would stop stop freaking out, personally. You will find out when you find out.

Never take discouragement from anybody. You never know. Be positive and work hard on whatever you can. Sometimes, putting extra efforts on essay, trying to provide nice refernces, or showing your growth in resume or personal statement may work. My D was discouraged by many who say she will not get some admissions or scholarships, but to our surprise, she got admitted to most of schools she applied with many merit scholarships. Nobody can predict simply based on your GPA. It is importannt but schools consider other aspects too if they have any vacant place.

Keep trying. All the best.

The fact that you stuck with it and got your act together is good; 3.65 certainly seems to be reasonable for some of the transfer students we’ve heard back from. I don’t remember hearing back from any OOS transfer students, so I don’t know how that might impact your decision. We’ve seen people who did not have the HS GPA to get into UMD as a freshman transfer in, with their grades showing that they’ve turned things around. Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement, and yea I’ll have to try to stop freaking out. It’s just that I’m already a super senior so I slowly feel like I’m running out of time!
