wow. Transfer decisions come in a month. I am starting to get nervous. Everyone is saying that I am a shoe in, but I am not so sure.

Stats as followed

High School GPA 2.7 (upward trend. 4.0 sr. year)
SAT I - 1580
SAT II Writing - 800
College GPA - 4.0 (26 credits).

Extracuriculars - Speaker of SGA Senate, District 14 Democratic Club Executive Committee, Democratic Precint Chair. You get the picture, very active in politics and SGA.

My main concern is of course my High School GPA. I BOMBED 9th and 10th grade. I have so many D's and some E's on my high school report card for those years that it is appauling. Would someone who knows a thing or two about GU admissions give me the whole truth without holding anything back?

My Jr. GPA was maybe 3.4 nothing special. Went to some crazy quaker school (nothing like the prestigious schools in Penn) where like 30% of your grade was class participation. It was more like daycare. I transfered to Emerson Prep in DC for Senior year. Umm my grades were as followed

Pre-Calculus -101%
Physics - 95%
Chemistry-95%
Calculus - 100%
Current Issues in Science - 100%

I am currently at University of Maryland Baltimore County. The world's most boring school.

Definately competetive....i'd say your highschool grades will hurt you, but it won't be a make it-break it type of thing....your 4.0 will help along with a 1580....and if you had a good interview(if you had one at all), and a fantastic essay, i'd say you'll have a really good shot

Here are my stats:
High School GPA: 3.1 (strong junior and senior year grades)
SAT I: 1090
College GPA: 4.0 (24 credits)
Extracurriculars: Volunteered for Kerry Edwards Campaign, MoveOn, DNC, Democracy for America, and Act4Victory.

I am very concerned about my weak high school record and SAT scores. I do have strong grades in 11th and 12th grade. My 11th grade GPA was a 4.0, and my senior year gpa was a 3.6. I am currently attending a Penn State satellite campus and currently majoring in political science.

Hey, you may be better off making your own post about your chances. It is my experience that most people will only go skim through the first few messages. In other words, people might miss your message!
