Family pressures? Anyone got em'?

Its hard wanting to get far away from your home town when your home town happens to have a significantly good school like Texas A&M. And on top of that, its also difficult when your grandfather, father, mother, and uncle all went to that said school. And your father and mother both work there. And your mother works in admissions counseling. You know that the school would suit you just fine in the long run its just the place that makes you cringe.. and the people. In your heart you wanna get far away from there and go somewhere like idk.. Canada.. where you were born and where you think you would fit in better.

Lol, the one time my mom sent me on a school tour when she took me to work made me feel like she was brainwashing me into going there.

Anyone got something similar?

You are fortunate! Hope it feels that way!

Aren’t you only 14? A lot can change in 3+ years.

You need to sit down with your parents and find out how much money they can afford for your education. Can you go to the university where they work for free (or almost free)? Does their university participate in tuition exchange with any other institutions which would make those places free/cheap/economical?

All of this encouragement to attend A&M may have as much to do with your family’s financial situation as it does to loyalty to the “family” college.
