So 3 other CCers from my high school and I combined our two favorite hobbies of the moment: fantasy football and college admissions. We have held a fantasy college draft, where we drafted member of our high school class in hopes that the members of our team get into better colleges than the members of other teams. So here's how it works.

1) We had 6 rounds (we go to a non-competitve public school, so you don't want to have too many rounds).
2) Scores will be determined by the highest ranked school on the USNEWS 2007 National University rankings that each member of the team gets into.
3) Lowest total score wins.
4) A matriculation bonus of -1 is given to a member of your team that attends the highest ranked school they get into. (ex. If your first pick gets into princeton ED, then the score is 0 points, not 1 point. If they get into U Chicago and dont attend its 9 points, if they do its 8)
5) If a member of you team gets into a LAC or a Masters U or any college that isn't on the national rankings, relative SAT score will be considered. (ex. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology would be the equivalent of a 40 or thereabouts)
6) Draft order is determined randomly and will be conducted Yahoo! style (last person to pick in the first round has first pick in the second round ect.)
7) Winner recieves cash prize.

Yes, this is terrible, and it has be said they we are horrible people for conducting this and are going to burn in Hell (but I won't, because Hell doesn't exist). What are your thoughts on this matter?

I am one of the other players in the league, and I just want affirmation that this is not a terrible thing we are doing. But deep inside me i think it is. Drafting our classmates' futures. Despicable.

my school: dropout, dropout and pregnant, 6 years to finish, community college, community college (only to drop out after 6 months), local colleges mostly...and about 40 kids each graduating class who end up at great schools (mostly UVA and William and Mary because we're in SE Virginia)

Really? Haha, weird. I guess because so many people I know go to UVA, but I really DON'T want to go there! I'm applying anyway, though, haha. In state tuition, you know!

I don't think my school has ever sent anyone to an ivy. We had a girl go to brandeis last year, but her family was so rich...her dad is one of the top psychiatrists in the country or something.
Our valedictorian went to Old Dominion University...kind of a small-ish local school. She's living at home.
