FAS account?

okay, can any incoming freshman tell me if they have received mail to their @FAS account? mine will not accept emails and i think i haven't been getting things, but tech services said no one should be getting emails to that account and now i'm confused! :/ thanks!

Two years ago they started giving @college accounts to incoming students to the college. The @college accounts are the only active accounts available to you.

so no emails go through the @fas account at all?

^Correct - the @fas account is inactive and does not receive emails.

^Well, not exactly. The FAS account receives emails but they are automatically forwarded to the @college account. So you can still provide your FAS account as an email address to people, you will just have to check it via @college.

^I have not found this to be the case. All emails sent to my @fas account have been lost somewhere in cyberspace. My @fas account, at least, doesn’t accept any emails.

^ Then you have an issue that needs to be rectified. All emails sent to my @fas account have been redirected to my @college account.

You might simply be unaware. I would recommend emailing your FAS account, if you have not already.

I have already emailed my account, and it does not work. Period.

Okay, then I would personally adopt the advice of post #7. On occasion, I do receive emails re-directed from that address. I cannot recall if the contents were important – based on my lack of recollection they probably weren’t – but it’s probably something worth surfacing to FAS IT.

Given this point, I don’t think I’ll bother.

If you happen to be the lucky recipient of a trip for four to the Bellagio, then so be it, right?

^But I thought you just said that the FAS emails are simply forwarded to @college.

Ksarmand’s FAS forwarding isn’t functioning properly.

Oh, I see. Well, in that case, I guess the lucky offer will be forever floating in the vast cyberspace. Or maybe they have a huge Lost and Found somewhere for all the lost, unclaimed emails out there.
