FAS Resource Access Account

So I activated my @fas email address, and I can log onto the @fas webmail app just fine, but for some reason I can't receive messages yet -- I sent an email to myself and nothing appeared.

Do you have to wait a few days or something for your inbox to activate?

How did you get a @fas email account? Mine’s @college and I was able to send and receive emails almost immediately.

That’s wierd. I thought all undergrads got an @fas.harvard.edu. Oh well.

I know this year Harvard planned on having all incoming freshmen get @college accounts. I played around a little bit with my email and found that if I sent an email to the @fas version of my email address, I would still receive it! So it seems like I have 2 email addresses…not sure why

D has an @college account. E-mail worked immediately but dad/husband put in settings to forward all her e-mail to her current comcast account.

I’m having no problem with the @college account, but the @fas account is behaving oddly: I can send emails from the webmail app but can’t receive them? I guess I’ll just call the IT guys.

I noticed this on the ‘Get Connected’ website:

I guess this means that the @college account will be the account with which you send/receive emails and the @fas account will be a “token” account through which you access public computers and such.

By the way, I JUST noticed that every test email I sent to my @fas account was automatically forwarded to my @college account. The transition is in full works.

I guess all freshmen this year get an @college email while it’s redirecting email from @fas because that was the old one. So even if people are confused or forget that you’re email is @college and send it to @fasa you will still get the email. That’s what I could make out of it.

Thats pretty sweet. I like @fas better because it makes the email address shorter
