How do I approach my goal of becoming a fashion journalist via NYU? What I mean is, what kind of classes to take, which major (Journalism, I'm thinking?), how to get a fashion related job. I watched Stylista on CW and a girl on there named Devin went to NYU and is studying to become a fashion journalist, like I'd like to. Any ideas on how to make this dream come true, or is it impossible?

Two of my D’s friends is a communications (or journalism - not completely sure which…) who want to focus on fashion, and both have found internships this summer, one with a PR firm and the other with a publication, I think. Sorry I don’t have all the exact details, but both young women are quite excited about their opportunities…admittedly this is a small and unscientific sample, but the point is that it is possible.

yeah, a lot of women in the communications department here intern at fashion magazines or fashion companies such as Chanel or Polo Ralph Lauren. they specialize in PR or magazine editing.

fashion magazines can be a very cut-throat and competitive industry.
