Fashion

^ Also at the highest levels of dress code (black tie) men have fewer options whereas women can be all over the place.

That being said I always wear a burgandy velvet smoking jacket instead of the standard tuxedo jacket as a black tie variant.

Skipping back a few pages, I like F21 still! It’s very very cheap and most of the stuff I get there breaks but until it breaks… it’s wonderful :)

Men’s fashion has so many different levels/styles (well… as does women’s) but it does seem simpler. Firstly, less curves, so less freaking out about lines and illusions of lines. Secondly, suits… all the same to me! I know when I appreciate a good cut to one, but other than that… lapels, cuff links, etc are pretty boring to me! Women have so many more options these days.

^ Yay I’m not the only F21 lover here! :D

cringes at F21

I just can’t like it. Everything I’ve ever bought from there has fallen apart or just looks cheap. :(

the closest store that I’ll settle for is Charlotte Russe, and they’re a on the iffy side too.

I wish Free People would quit emailing me. I always end up buying something when I do. But I can’t bring myself to unsubscribe. And Nordstrom too. I love Nordstrom’s.

TYiL = Hugh Hefner Jr.

F21 changed their store sign/name. Now it’s in roman numerals and I’m horrible at reading letters as numbers. I mean, why would you even want to do that?

I’ve never actually bought anything from there, but my friends have some cute F21 shirts.

^ Yup. Now it’s XXI. Except I don’t know anyone who calls it that. We still call it Forever 21. :D

So people would actually say “XXI?”
I didn’t even know they changed their name recently.

Yeah all the employees say XXI but I think it sounds horrendously awkward to refer to a store by 3 Roman numerals.

At least it wasn’t forever 40, then it would be referred to as XL lol.

“Girls have it EASY when it comes to fashion!”

lol, yeah, right. all guys have to do to look good is maybe go to the gym once or twice a week & shave every so often. it’s acceptable for guys to be slightly dirtier. & guys gain muscle about as easy as girls gain fat [biological reasons ;]]. girls are EXPECTED to shower every day, shave all of the time, stay stick-thin, & be constantly looking fresh in cute clothes & flawless make-up/hair. good thing i don’t care that much or i would spend all of my energy looking flawless, i would probs be failing all of my classes. don’t even ;)

edit:so i just realized that i read that as ‘appearance’, not ‘fashion’. heh. well, guys have simpler choices! backs away, slowly

In regards to the title of this thread, I’ve found myself guilty of browsing through random images of clothes and designer websites/blogs… :P

Haha… Yay! We all love fashion. Oh… How many of you shop at H&M? Well, I live in Manhattan and I get to shop at all the awesome vintage stores around town.

Oh…
@Meadow36. I design dresses at my school’s fashion show every year. Actually, I use The Sartorialist’s blog as my inspiration.

Same. I just started following fashiontoast.com
I love her style.

I used to also like KarlasCloset.com but lately she’s been dressing like she’s stuck in the 80s or 90s. And not in a good way.

Guess is definitely my store.

I actually like Forever 21. When I need to buy a cute cheap summer dress, it’s the first store I go to. Granted it doesn’t last at all, but that’s the reason why its cheap, right?

I don’t shop at Forever 21 anymore. I used to get lots of stuff there, then I realized it all fell apart and would get cheap basics there: a white or black T-shirt or tank, etc. But I just can’t put up with it anymore. I’d probably still go if I were and probably will go once I am paying for my own clothes, but as long as I’m not, I’ll hit up White House Black Market, or Nordie’s if I want beige/gray.
Does anyone understand those pants that are sized in the 20s? Like they start at 24 or so, and I don’t know where they end. I don’t get it.

In Men’s sizing a size X means X inches for both length of pants and size of waist… Real simple.

Nordstrom = Love
I think I might be spending too much money there because I’m getting invited to private shopping events and the sales clerks know me by name and regularly call me. o.0

But Free People is still number one in my heart.
Nordstrom and Barneys are number 2.
And number 3 goes to 17by17.

^ my mom gets those invites a lot too. you have to spend a lot to get them. they have some sort of minimum amount you have to spend there each year. then they get you drunk at the event, close the store to the regular public and pamper you until you buy more.
i went with her once. it was pretty awesome except i’m not a big shopper. i just got some jeans in the guys’ section.
