Well, I just went through 99 scholarships and found 6 that 1. I was elgible for, 2. the deadline hadn't passed and 3. I found at least minimally interesting. Fastweb is a reliable source isn't it?

Yes, fastweb is a reliable source. And each scholarship listed there has a link to the actual website for that scholarship, so you can find all the information you need. My son just applied for a scholarship we found on fastweb--one that is limited in that you must be a dependent of a naval service veteran ( or involved in such programs yourself). These are the kinds of scholarships we look for, because the competition is less stiff and there's a better chance of actually getting a scholarship.

that's why I liked it- I feel like I actually have a chance with these scholarships, unlike the American Dream and Cocoa Cola scholarships. I visited the websites, thanks a lot for the reply susantm

Fastweb has definitely been the most helpful resource I have found for scholarships. From time to time it does come up with pretty random ones that don't apply to me at all, but once you sort through you can find some very good scholarships that you may not have known about otherwise.

fastweb is great. However, some of the scholarships on fastweb are overly publicized.

fastweb and scholarships.com are amazing =P; however, there are still a lotta scholarships that they dont have listed so you should always search independently too =P

Try your local scholarships, which you can obtain from your guidance office. There will be much better odds than for a national scholarship.

Fastweb is a great source, but the best places to find scholarships are locally and by checking out the merit aid at colleges that offer merit aid and where your stats or other attributes put you in the top 25% of their admissions pool. If you have a rare attribute, such as being a URM or having some kind of outstanding talent that's in great demand, you don't have to have stats in the top 25% of the pool.

Fastweb is great so long as you make sure your profile is accurate. That way, you only get scholarships you're eligible for.
