fat envelope

how long does it take for the fat envelope to arrive. not that i am accepted or anything.. just wanna know.

^ Depends where you live.

well i am all the way in the middle east. im not concerned about the speed though. is it sent but first class mail [priority mail]? if it is should arrive in a week. if it is sent by airmail it may take as much as 2-3 weeks.

I would predict that they send it in decent time since they want to give international students time to look over the stuff in the packet and make a good decision.

i think they are supposed to arrive on the 1st

does the ivy league have to send the mail on the 31st, or do they send it out on the 30th? I was just wondering, because going through old columbia threads, i saw those in new york received the “fat” package a couple hours before the online decision.

Columbia actually sent them priority (might have been FedEx), so I believe they were mailed on the same day as they arrived. That’s what happened to me. I think there’s a strong agreement between the Ivy League schools not to send the letters before that day, though.

What? So I could check the mail for my decision on the 31st as well? That’s ridiculous!

Most colleges will send their mail priority in a hefty envelope.

Can we engage in calling UPS or Fedex as they did a few years ago?

^ Do you know how that worked? I didn’t really get it (when I read about it)

Wait, I’m so confused – will the normal mail application arrive at my house in the Northwest on the 31st, or not?

by the way, how fat is the fat package? how big is it?

as big as my rod

bump about my question! I would really love to know whether the decision mail arrives on the 31st.

lolololololololololol

@baelor it’s mailed out on the 31st so if you live anywhere near boston then yes you could see it on that day. you’ll probably get the email first, though.

Baelor,

Last year my son received his acceptance on the 31st exactly at 2pm (California) via e-mail. The large envelope with all the financial aid information arrived 2 days later.

Best of luck :)

I’m on the opposite side of the country so I guess I’m not getting it on the 31st. Phew, I was worried I would have to have my family gone the whole day too!

I’m not working for the post office, But they can be sent to the post office and be labeled “not to be delivered until April 1”. Although this can be very risky to anxious applicants, but it can be done. I would expect them no later than the 5th, no earlier than the 1st. Most post offices don’t deliver before 5PM.

I don’t know if I’m correct, but you will see soon enough…Hopefully.
