Because it's stupid. People are, regardless of weight or circumstance, people.

Yeah, and it's ok to be friends with chubby people... I hold no prejudice against overweight... but it doesn't mean I would necessarily select them as a partner... because the majority of the time fat=strong social/emotional dillemmas that can cloud and interrupt progress.

Thank you so much, 311Griff. I understand what you said about potential partners, and I'm so glad that you're not prejudiced against fat people. :)

And yes, fat people are not subhuman.

It's just the hating on fat people that bugs me. I know I can't really change that, but whatever.

I'm pretty sure we all know fat people are still people, just fatter than the usual.
Personally, I am alright with them as long as they are hygenic (some people are just fat because they are lazy and eat a lot and are unwilling to exercise or shower). I would never date a fat girl though. 0 physical attraction. I would never date a black black girl either, or a hairy indian girl, or one of those really manly women.

I won't buy anything over a size 4, so if I allow myself to get fat, I'll have no clothes.

^hahahhaaha

I wasn't pointing that out for benefit of guys--I was just explaining a hole in the BMI system thingy.

haha me too...except i buy clothes in 4 or 6 because some things fit differently.

A good lifestyle change for overweight people is to eat a low-carb diet (I know, I know, it's all the rage these days, but still). I don't mean Atkins or South Beach or other fad diets... I mean a healthy, sensible low-carb (not NO carb) diet, cutting out heavy carbs like breads, pasta and processed foods, and eating mainly fresh veggies, unprocessed meat/poultry/fish, nuts, and lots of water. If you need a sugar boost, eat fruit.

The thing about this way of eating is that junk food/fast food is automatically cut out. The excess weight will fall off, and since you're eating mostly healthy and natural stuff, you'll feel a million times better and have much more energy. You'll find yourself wanting to get out there and exercise.

haha That's a good way of keeping thin.
