Father in Iraq

Are there any scholarships for children of military personnel on acitve duty in Iraq? Currently, my dad is stationed over there for two years, as a reserved marine. Im very strong academically, so I dont think my grades or test scores should pose a problem. Any responses are greatly appreciated.

Check with your local veterans' associations, and ask at the military base. They may know of such scholarships.

I also think that when applying for things like scholarships sponsored by local organizations, your finding a way to include in your app the fact that your father is serving in Iraq may help you get special consideration. Lots of people would like to help out a student whose father is serving our country in a war zone.

A google search turned up this site entitled "Scholarships for Veterans and their Families." There's specific scholarship info and tips on finding others. Good luck

Good luck finding scholarships. God bless your father.
