Favorite Books Question???

I’m filling out a short answer part of an application, and it asks for favorite books and/or movies in 225 characters. I’ve listed 4 movies, and only 3 books bc I don’t have enough room. However, I wrote the book and the author (ex. Crayons by Bobby Bob) and that took up a lot of room. Can I only list the titles or do I have to include the author? Thanks!

2 movies and 1 book is better than 4 movies ad 5 books.

@1golfer1 But the question is “What are your favorite books and/or movies?” plural, so I would assume list more than 1 or 2…

You want an admissions officer to think, “Why that / those book(s) or movie(s)?” You do not want an admissions officer to see four pretentious books and think, “Show off.”
I was exaggerating a bit earlier – But you don’t want more than 3 of each.

@1golfer1 This was what I planned to put down.
Books: And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, The Color of Water by James McBride, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
Movies: The Artist, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Taken, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I don’t think they are pretentious though.

Just be honest? It’s ok if you like pretentious books/movies, and it’s equally ok if you don’t. The adcom just wants to know more about you.

My question is–are you really just supposed to list the titles without giving a reason why? I have a similar question for one of my supplements (definitely different though) and it specifically asks why you put down specific books.

As for your original question, you should probably put the authors since many books have the same title and you want the adcom to know which book you’re talking about (although with your current list there shouldn’t be any confusion)

@magikarp256 I’m only given 225 characters so if I did give a reason why, I can probably only list 1 book and 1 movie. … And thank you!
