Favorite standardized test pencil?

Since we all know that we can't use mechanical pencils on SAT/ACT/AP and the like, what kind of regular pencil do you guys like to use.

Ticonderoga all the way. I especially like the black ones.

^What you said.

Freakin mechanical pencils.
I don’t care if they don’ allow it… I buy #2 lead o.o

ticonderoga! and my hi-polymer eraser

Yes.

For AP essays, one of these bad boys:
http://teleburst.files.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/2010/10/pilot-g-2.jpg

You can use mechanical and that’s what I use.

Ticonderoga is by far the best non-mechanical pencil. It’s soft, comfortable and the eraser works well.

I never realized that there were different ranks of the quality of pencils until I joined CC. ;p

It’s not even debatable that Ticonderoga is the best.

notanengineer: the gel on those smears too much

“Ticonderogas are the cadillac of pencils”

They do smear, but the weight of the gel is too good to let down. When I go back to normal pens they’re just… weak.

Ossenburger would use a Ticonderoga.

I never thought about the best type of pencil before, but now I don’t feel so neurotic for suggesting to my son that he wear down the pencil a bit after sharpening so will not be so pointy and waste extra time filling in ovals.

I thought the backpack thread was classic CC HSL.

I was wrong. This is definitely it.

What in fuark…

This only happens in CC. I don’t give a flying rats arse about what pencil I use if it has a #2 lead and good eraser.

I used a mechanical pencil on my AP tests 2 year ago and nothing happens, and I would on the SAT but I would think the proctors would be more strict

Black Warrior is far superior to Ticonderoga.

Ticonderoga

Ticonderoga or Mirado Black Warrior.

this is why i love CC

Which ever one I can get for 1 cent at Staples during the summer. I stock up for the whole year then.
