If any person has had any experience with FE dorms, please give us incoming freshmen a quick review of the dorm u stayed in. If someone could give us a ranking in terms of size, smell, etc. of the dorms, I'm sure we'd appreciate it. Thanks.

me, too. We are a very clean bunch at my house and I am very worried about her adjustment to sharing a bathroom at school. Are the dorms that bad? And can you get it changed if it is so terrible you can't stand it?

Well obviously I'm very late in posting this reply and if this information is of no use to you, so be it. Anyway, here's my two cents:
I find the dorms to cover the basic needs. They are relatively clean and well maintained.
FYI: GT dorms are currently being renovated as part of a mass renovation project sweeping through campus.
As a freshman I stayed in Howell (FE on East, guys only) and found it more than adequate. The room was clean, smelled great, bathrooms were always kept clean and everything was jolly good.
That being said, I have heard unpleasant things about other dorms on campus such as Towers (also an FE on East, guys only) that apparently was flooded or something. The resulting odor that permeated the dorm wasn't exactly refreshing either.
The maintenance ppl at Tech are a prompt group who will readily perform any task for you to spruce up your living conditions. So find their number when you go there and store it in your cell cause you might need it (I needed them to bunk my bed since I have a fear of heights ...)
In any case I was able to make the adjustment with considerable ease (common bathroom, etc ...). There are common areas provided in all dorms for socializing and kitchens to cook and so on and so forth ...
If you are dissatisfied with your accomodations you can always change the next semester.
BOTTOM LINE: the dorms are clean, relatively spacious and offer a place to sleep. Quite frankly, when the first round of midterms comes along, you'll be too busy to bother about anything else.
Hope this helped and if not, well, it provided something for me to do.
Good luck :)
