Says “registered” for my son too. What does that mean?! Seems crazy that they don’t post all scores at the same time.
I feel pretty good. Not about my score, but about how I can do next test. I got a 31 overall and my lowest scores were Math and science which are my best subjects. So it just means I need to practice my timing which is definitely something I can do.
For those still waiting, scores will be posted again on friday. I don’t think they’re posting anymore today
Got my scores…
C 30
E 35
M 26
R 33
S 26
I did better than on the Dec one (I got C 29 with E 34 M 24 R 31 and S 25)
I’m really not sure what to do to pull up my math and science scores…I studied like crazy for this one for math and science and only went up 1 or 2 points. Meanwhile I did’t even LOOK at English/reading yet I improved 2 points…ugh!
Thinking of getting a tutor at this point b/c I’m not sure what else to do…
I took it two times now and i’ve gotten a 26 both times. My goal is at least a 29 and i need help! i do very good on
the english and math. but i always get a 22/23 on reading and science, I need tips for both! I actually thought i did good on the science this round and only got a 23… i always run out of time for reading
Sophomore son scored well but didn’t study. Does studying actually improve your score? If so, what method is most efficient?
First monster to take the ACT and this is a whole new world.
C29
E30
M27
R30
S30
Was surprised to see his lowest was math as it is his best subject while reading his least enjoyed.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
@shivanip16, My son raised his reading score with the “English and Reading Workout for the ACT” from The Princeton Review.
Do I know you from somewhere Shivanip16?
You might know my brother dhavalp14
Oh my bad.
My scores:
C 30
E 28
M 35
R 27
S 28
@love4monsters Very good score for a sophomore. The math is lower just for the fact he probably didn’t learn some of the math yet required for the test. My son’s score from sophomore to junior year in math went up 4 points without studying…just having one more year of school. And then with a little practice 2 more points.
I think the best method to improve is to take practice tests. Especially since he is already at 30 in most areas. Take a practice test and then study and learn the ones that he got wrong. And do that for as many tests as you can get a hold of. There are some tests online and some are in the ACT prep books.
You should use the Princeton and Barron’s book, I found then very helpful. Although the Barron’s is difficult it will help you as it will make the real act seem easier, and you can see some of the more difficult types of questions you may tackle when it comes to test day
I’m still “registered”… As is everyone else who took at the school I did.
Thanks a lot public school. Way to send the mail on time.
Still registered as well…this is dumb.
If there is anyone struggling with their scores just know that it’s possible to improve them. I went from a 28 to a 32 so its definitely possible!!! PM me if you need any help increasing your score
Hey do you have any advice to raise a 28 to a 32. I really struggle with reading because of the time constraint.
English 32
Math 30
Reading 23
Science 27
Composite 28
This is absurd some of the scores are not released for no reason.
Worst test administrator… SAT is a little bit better.
So this is what I got:
C: 25
E: 28
M: 23
R: 27
S:21
the science section ruined me. does anyone think I can get this up to a 30 by April with lots of prep??
@fearlesspromises yes definitely. it will take a lot of commitment and prep, like you said, but you got this! I just raised my composite 3 points from a 28 to a 31 in less than a month and my reading score 4 points from a 26 to a 32 from the December to February test. Your best right now is English and Reading, so I would focus on maximizing those as much as you can–shoot for at least 33 in those two sub sections. And try to bring science and math to at least 26. First thing I would do is buy or borrow the Real ACT Prep book, Princeton Review’s 1296 ACT Review, and Barron’s Science and Math Workbook. For reading, practice practice practice! Do one reading test each day timed. For English, read up on comma, semi colons, etc and do practice tests. For math, study up really well on geometry and algebra. Do practice tests timed and you should be getting the first forty questions 100% correct–this will get you at around a 26 on math. Make sure you review EVERY practice test and especially the questions you are getting wrong. For the ones you get wrong in maths, re write the problem and the procedure and how to solve it in a notebook. For science, first do a few tests untimed and focus on understanding the content and mastering accuracy. After you get used to reading and analyzing the passages, be sure to practice with some timed tests! If you can try to take a full test every weekend, this will get you used to the timing and help build your stamina. A lot of the ACT is just being comfortable with the test and knowing it like the back of your hand.
Also skim through these ACT rules and tips. They helped me a lot!
