<p>It is important to be aware that the qualifications for the Byrd scholarships are determined by each state. So what you read on the web site will not likely apply for you. Your guidance counselor should be able to tell you how they select them in your state. It is certainly worth applying for. If you get it, you will get $1500 a year for four years to use at the college of your choice.</p>
<p>NYS it is 1250, or 1875 SAT on one sitting, and a 95 GPA in 3 units of math,science,english,social studies and foreign language.</p>
<p>does anyone know if only a few are given out, or if many are?</p>
