Sent my app to NYU, just created my NYU account, and now found that NYU apparently doesn't offer fee waivers to int'ls. I might be blind, but I couldn't find any information of this kind on NYU's website. Does anybody know a useful link?

Also, a somewhat related question: My stats are (well) above the 75% at NYU, but I'm an int'l who needs a HUGE amount of aid. I'm aware that NYU isn't known for generosity, however, I know that they do provide some financial support for int'ls, limited as it is described on their website. From the threads I read here, I get the worrying impression that NYU is very stingy/poor, especially regarding money available for intl's. Considering how much aid I need, is there a chance that they can meet my full need, or I should no longer waste my time and their time and withdraw my application?

If you look at the % of kids getting full need met at NYU, you can see that your chances are very small of getting your need met. IMO your stats need to be more like in the top 5-10% of the accepted student pool in order to have a good chance of getting an aid package that comes close to meeting need. Or you have to have something that NYU very much wants, perhaps coming from a country that is unusual or having some other attribute that the school is seeking.

I do know of some students who did get generous aid packages from NYU. Every one of them were top students who were accepted to schools more selective. They were top “catches” for most any school. So, yes, the there are those who get full need met and need defined generously, but you have to be very much wanted by the school.

Thanks for your answer. I have a few questions now:
- Where can I find the % of students with full need met?
- I found a website where I learned that my SAT score puts me in the top 1,4% of applicants at NYU. Do you happen to know where I can find the % of accepted people with these SAT scores?
- Is there a chance you could estimate which outcome is more likely for an int’l which needs a lot of aid: get into a need-blind & full-need university(MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Amherst) or get into NYU with full need met?
