I wanted to attend Penn State University inthe Fall 2006..I was all ready to move in and stuff but unfortunatly a few personal situations came up and it looks like i'll be stuck at my old school, Rider in New Jersey. Im coming on my junior year and had big plans to do things like study abroad and other school programs that would allow me to travel. If i want to transfer out now i would be coming into school and living on campus for the FIRST TIME in Spring 2007. Looking at this, im feeling like its too late for me to experience this whole "college life" thing and actually move away to college. I'll be 21 in late january, feel like i have done nothing big in my life and am feeling like college so far has been a complete disaster for me. Do you guys think tranfering into school Spring 2007, almost being 21 years old, and never experienced living on campus ( i commuted )....is it too late for me. Have i missed out on too much? Would it be even worth it to go off to school now? I know right after college i'll probably end up living back in lame New Jersey at home...(im originallly from Boston) Is it too late for me..Excuse my spelling and sentence structure..im just extrememly frustrated and busy.

Damn i feel like a screw-up. My family thinks im nuts and i think they are looking down upn me becuse my other younger siblings have been successful in their college experiences so far. I always planned to get out and do something big to chanhe the boring lifestyle i was living..Im just disappointed in what i have done and regret almost evrything ive done that relates to college...alright im done, had to get that all out.

A lot of people here on CC transfer when they are around your age (although I suppose the majority of them are about 20yo when they transfer), and from what I can tell they all seem to enjoying their current schools. It's never too late to have a college experience like the one you stated above. You just have to stay possitive and worlds will open up to you. You've worked very hard and have great plans to the future, so don't let this notion that "transfers won't have a good college experience" stop you. So keep your head up :)

People use the saying "its never too late" so frequently because its true. You will still have two full years of college left, and there will be plenty of opportunities to make your mark. Penn State is a good school, and, if you take the initiative, will open up a lot of doors for you.

Take a chance, and never settle for mediocrity when you know you can do better. Also, since you will be a junior, you probably will be in more of an apartment, rather than a big dorm. Perhaps that will make the adjusment easier...
