Feeling weird? March 10th?

SPS,Groton, Deerfield, and Hotchkiss with top choice being Groton!

Also, I’m no TV fan either. I can appreciate the occasional well writen series but the majority of stuff on TV is crap. If I had to choose 1 electric device I use semi-regularly to dump it’d be TV.

I definitely think you’ll get in, you’re a really strong applicant. Not to mention you’re well read. =P Speaking of which, do you have any suggestions for good books to read? Have you read the Outsiders, Go Ask Alice, Night, Speak, Kira-Kira, or the God of Animals (I love all of those)?

sorry for butting in guys
@ BlueRaven: yep. 90% Indonesian citizens are Moslem. Yet, unlike those news casted worldwide, just by being a Moslem doesnt necessarily mean supporting terrorism. In fact, I have met several very friendly, very tolerant Moslems who strictly oppose terrorism. I feel like to defend this religion because there are so many stereotypes which are completely incorrect.

@ konikamano: Seriously konikamano? I think your English is amazing! Having maids is like having 4 people under your command lol. I think this is why I lack self-discipline. C:

to all CCers: I genuinely believe all of you have great shots in getting spots at the schools you applied to. I read The Secret. It said that by being optimistic, the power of universe (or something like that) will help you achieve your goals.

My current goal is to eat cheesecake and attend BS!

haha, I feel like saying something too. I’m a muslim. and I don’t blow things up. :smiley: I figured I might as well say it, I think i said it in another one of my posts or something :/

@Blueraven, I know where you are from? I thought it’s pretty clear from your posts.
@Monochrome I had some pretty good pineapple upside down cheesecake the other day.

Where am I from the, oh wise one? :p

So this is really late, but whateve

I used to have a maid except we called her a househelp and everyone had one. It was ok.

Roomates can be awesome and terrible at the same time. It can make or break your boarding experience. I went to boarding school in 6th grade and I had a great time, except for the fact that my roomate was abusive. But roomates are awsome, for all the reasons mentioned, sharing clothes, talking about guys, help with homework and someone to be there. My roomate and I are still friends, but I think that if I had stood up for myself more I would have had a much better time.

I hate the stereotypes Americans have about Muslims. I grew up with Muslims and their normal people.

Sorry to jump in guys, but first, my family has a cleaning lady, but she only comes like once a week. Second, a good friend of mine went to St. Marks and got a roommate who tried to convince her that if you were drunk, getting high would cancel it out.

…this girl got in to boarding school? I’m suddenly feeling better about my chances.

yeah the whole muslim thing… why does it matter? Islam is a religion, as is christianity, judaism , buddhism, hinduism–any religion you follow whether you follow one or not is your own personal thing, your own beliefs, etc… and muslims are being stereotyped. Just because a certain group of people who happened to be muslim did something they so called “believed” was valid in their religion, does not give anybody the right to blame everybody who follows that religion.

I’ll prolly be living in a muslim country soon. Anyway, there are nuthead christians and nuthead muslims and nuthead jews. The thing they all have in common is they’re nuts not their religion.

lol i like how u said that:)

Last night, I saw about ten minutes of a program on the History channel , about the Ku Klux Klan. It showed one of their nightly rituals, invoking the name of Jesus and singing Amazing Grace as they burned the cross and asked God’s blessing. It turned my stomach to see pure evil invoking Christianity. I had to switch channels.

I’m sure there are millions and millions of muslims who feel the same way when they see the twin towers collapsing.

That was a very good post neato.

@neato yup that’s me ): I switch channels when I hear about a suicide bombing or something. sometimes i feel SO awkward at school whenever my friends talk about events like that…it’s like what am I supposed to say? I know that such events are horrible, but will they understand that people like these, who claim to share the same faith as I do, are waaaay different than I am…?

^^lol, me venting out about my problems. ha.

@urbanflop:
I was actually aiming for blueberry cheesecake lol

@everybody else:
I have met many Moslems like orangeyorange, for example :slight_smile: Religion come from the Latin word ‘religare’ which means ‘rebonding’. Its etimology definition is rebonding with God. So, basically all religions are well-meant and good. Muslim looks bad in front of the Western society because of several mislead people who believe that ‘jihad’ is an extremely good way to go to heaven. And bombing Christians is a good way to go to heaven. And bombing Americans is a good way to go to heaven. Seriously.

I wish there were more Muslims at my school… heck, I wish there was one person who wasn’t a Christian or an atheist (and I wish the Christians would stop trying to convert her). Where I live is so ethnically bland… one more reason I want to go to boarding school, I’m sick of all the sameness.

Most people at my school are ‘christian, they think’, atheist or jewish. I’m a raised episcopilian but I tend towards agnostic

I am a Christian… I became one when I was twelve. It’s a long story, but I like it <3 I think my paternal grandparents are Episcopalian? My maternal grandparents (I’ve lived with them for nearly my whole life, so I think of them as my parents) are atheist/Mormon. They do not approve of me going to a non-denominational church and bible study, but I do anyways even though I get grounded for it sometimes. I’m not going to let them stop me from growing in my faith.

It’s good you’re so strong to what you believe… I go to church but that’s because we go as a family
