Fellow NYU Applicants, LIKELY LETTER?

Hey! I recently received a "Sunday at the Square" invitation from NYU. Bascially, they invited me to come to Washington Square on April 3 to learn more about their Biology program (I applied as a Biology major) and its profs.

Since NYU informs applicants of the committee's decision "on or about April 1" and they asked me to RSVP by March 25, does this constitute some sort of Likely Letter? My thought is why would they bother to invite me to the school if they were going to deny or waitlist me? But I really have no clue.

So if any other NYU applicant received such an invitation, or if you didn't for that matter, let me know because it'd be nice to get some clarification on this whole subject.

Non-NYU applicant's comments are also welcomed!

I got this for NYU Stern ... saying something like this is reserved for those outstanding candidates who will be invited to join the Stern school as Stern Scholars.

Joey

Its a likely. I also got one (applied to arts and sciences, most likely going to be an economics and/or mathematics major).

thanks a lot guys....do you think you will be enrolling at NYU? either of you?

I know I'm waiting to hear back from other places.
