Did/does NYU send likely letters. Because I'm certain i'll be accepted, and i didnt get one. My numbers are just really good, i feel i'm a very strong applicant.; I'm not trying to act conceited, I was just wondering.

where did you apply? everyone from cas is getting one, i guess.

Did you get an invite to Sunday at the Square/University Day/CAS Reception/etc? Those are akin to likely letters I believe.

i applied to Stern; Is stern one of the more competitive NYU schools?

I received an invitation to the CAS reception. I don't know if that qualifies as a likely letter or not.

well i'm stern so i guess it's different. What are your (you CAS students) SATs and grades like?

i m cas because economics is there

2150 sat/ top 2% of class at magnet program (99% of graduating class are going to a 4 year college) / debate champion in fl / hispanic

CAS-2100 SAT, top 4% of class, 3.7-ish uw gpa

what are YOUR stats eji?

have the stern scholars letters already been sent out? i thought they had...

(but i dunno for sure, didnt apply to stern)

Yeah, I thought I heard about people already getting Stern Scholars letters. Maybe they were just asking about them... I'll have to go look...

Yeh, Stern is harder to get into. I got an invite for "Sunday at the Square" for the Stern Scholars program.

My Stats:
SAT I- 800 M, 760 V, 730 W
SAT II- 800 math ic, 800 physics, 800 chinese, 780 math iic, 780 us history
gpa/rank: 4.0, 9/650
received some science awards and had leadership positions at school

damn chino. good for you.

Damn, well my numbers i'd say are adequate but Stern is harder huh?
Well 790 M, 680 V, 680 W. Math 1-740, USH-700, Lit- 660. Ranked 2/150. Got an engineering medal, and a couple other awards. 5 on AP Euro, 3 on AP chem, and taking 5 APs this year, so we'll see. So i didnt get any letter yet, (Scholar/likely) so i guess i'm up against some stiff competition as opposed to what i saw on collegeboard. Mid 50% was 610-700 on each or thereabout....so we'll see...soon enough

I'm still pretty confident i'll get in... (my counselor says i have a 99.99%) <<<<his exact words. I was deferred ED from Princeton so i guess I'm a pretty strong applicant. Who knows, we will in due time.

you have to keep in mind that the sat scores for tisch, gsp, steinhardt, and school of social work can very possibly bring down the median (not always, but sometimes). stern is probably the hardest school to get into grade-wise. its never good to be so confident =/ sorry, but looks like youll just have to wait until april 1st.

<edit> just saw your most recent post. im going to reiterate my "never be too confident" suggestion. it sets you up for disappointment. (and makes you come across as arrogant. sorry, but its the truth.)</edit>

ok scrapnel, we'll see in due time, i'm not talking arrogance, i'm just saying i feel confident, but we'll find out soon, no use talking about it, i was just curious. Either way, life goes on....

haha sorry if you took that in a rude/condescending way. i honestly wasnt trying to be =) i wish you the best of luck!

thank you, likewise ;)

your counselor is wrong about 99.9999 percent. no one has that great of odds for stern. it is hard as hell
