I have been doing some searching on trying to dig up fellowships, scholarships, etc. for graduate students in the education field. I actually haven’t had much luck. Is there a good website that provides condensed information about these?
What are the major fellowships awarded in the education field? For example, a friend in a nursing program just became a Hillman scholar.

Are you a top student with high stats? Did you specialize in a STEM subject?
My niece, who specialized in teaching math, had very high stats, had all of her grad school paid for at USC. There are grants/fellowships out there to apply to, but you have to stand out.
One thing that is a little unique about teaching is that the loans can be forgiven after you graduate and start teaching. My sister went into a Teacher in residence program. It was a cooperation between the school district and a private university. She got loans for the courses (a masters) and those loans were forgiven over the 5 years she was required to teach in the district. That was the plan, take the loans and then work. For her, it worked out and she’s just completed her obligation to teach for 5 years post graduation. For others who dropped out of the program, it didn’t work out (but I believe there was some agreement reached for repayment for some of them).
You have to be pretty exceptional to get third party funding for grad school. Most funding will come directly from your school in the form of GA, TA, or RA (research, not resident) roles. Ask if funding through one of those is available.
