<p>Hey guys, I just wanted to get opinions on what the best female spirit groups are? I am wanting to join one next semester (spring 2015), but I am just unsure on which to join. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, what all is involved in the recruitment processes? </p>
<p>In my opinion Spirits, Sweethearts, and Lassos are the most known. Spirits is the oldest and I think the most popular, Sweethearts is the most like a sorority, and Lassos are a great group as well. I think all of these have spring recruitment (not sure about sweethearts). The recruitment process is a lot of meet and greets followed by info meetings and then a creative project followed by interviews but each one is different. Good luck!</p>
<p>Awesome! Thanks! I know that in order to be in some of the spirit groups you have to be creative. I am creative to an extent, but not as creative as the girls that are in some of the spirit groups. Is there a spirit group that doesn’t have creative projects that are required?</p>

<p>Lassos is more about personality rather than creativity so I’d look into that, I’m trying out next semester :)</p>
<p>Texas Royals is another great spirit group! I felt the same way about the whole “not extremely creative” thing, which is why I decided Royals was the best group for me! Definitely go to all the info sessions you can though, it will help you make a decision! </p>

I’m looking into applying this spring for Texas Spirits and I was wondering how important academics are in the recruitment process. I know that you have to have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA, but when they are reviewing your application are they more interested in the creativity aspect? </p>

Texas Angels is a newer spirit group at UT as well but is growing very quickly! They have a mixture of service and social events, which creates a nice balance. If you are planning on joining a spirit group I highly suggest checking them all out because how you fit in with the girls is more important than anything else! Name and status may seem important but each group has its perks.
