I don’t know, but if it were me I would look up the coach, and email them.

Cornell has a women’s team, I believe the men’s team has now been relegated to “club” status (which was not the case in my day). I don’t know what club status implies for recruiting or the value of a fencing “hook”.

The Women’s team is an NCAA Div 1 team I believe, while the Men’s team is a club team. The women’s team will recruit athletes, but the men’s team won’t. The reason that the men’s team is only a club team is because per NCAA regulations, a school must have an equal amount of male and female NCAA athletes. Since there is not a women’s football team to balance out the large number of men on the men’s football team, other men’s team will have to be downgraded from Div 1 status to keep the numbers equal.
