FERPA Release Authorization

"I waive my right to review all recommendations and supporting documents submitted by me or on my behalf."

I'd like to waive my rights; however, my teacher would like me to be the one to proofread the letter of recommendation being written for me. I don't need or want to read it, but I must proofread it for it to be sent.
By proofreading the letter of recommendation (which can ultimately be changed, and I'll never see the final draft) would I be going against this contract?

Nope - if you waive your rights, you’re basically agreeing that if you ask your teacher to let you read your LOR, they have the right to say no. However, it’s perfectly fine to read it if your teacher asks you to, or if you ask them to and they’re fine with it (though, IMO, it’s a but rude to ask to read the rec they wrote - obviously, in your case, since it’s the other way around, you’re fine). Hope this helps!

Sorry for typos; I’m on my phone/half asleep O.o
