It's on a lot in the Student Center, apparently theres a big cricket thing going on lately...I don't know exactly.

We don't have satellite, GT provides their own cable

Internet connection is 1 ethernet port per person in each room. All dorms are wireless too.

Torrent's can deff be downloaded here ;) haha

George_Clinton : "apparently theres a big cricket thing going on lately"

yeah, the World Cup.

Go Bangladesh!!!

well...there are bad experiences everywhere.
Seems like those reviews are complaining that Tech is too hard...
well, don't go to university expecting four years of partying/beer drinking.

For the other side, seems there about as many negative reviews about Umich.

i dont expect to be partying/ or drinking...but i want to be able to understand the professor that teaches me and i want to be safe too...

Drinking at college is inevitable. It's everywhere no matter where you go... not just Tech. Not to mention UMich has a lot too. But from what I saw (I was between those two too), Mich had a lot more smokers than Tech. They're both really different experiences.
Just to answer your questions:
1) I think they're offering a cricket team at Tech starting next year (not sure though, but I've heard that from pretty good sources).
2) Don't know about satellite connection, but they do get a good amount of movie channels from what I hear.
3) Really good and really fast.
4) Don't know.
5) Gaming is incredibly popular. It's a tech school. Teehee.

"don't go to university expecting four years of partying/beer drinking."

hahaha, too late for about a quarter of the Tech kids here. Seriously, it's not that hard to balance everything. My first semester I did absolutely next to nothing, never went to class...drank on Sunday and Monday nights and pulled over a 2.0....I'm not saying do all that, but everyone thinks this place is a lot harder than it really is

Do TAs teach any of the lectures or just the recitations?

Penguinman - That website is very messed up, possibly vandalized.

Click on "Undergrad (174)" under "Summary." Under the drop-down menu you'll see that the "Average Yrs. Completed" by the students posting these reviews is 2.2. This means one of a couple different things:
1) The people who posted the negative reviews (a little less than half) have never attended Georgia Tech, probably UGA fans.
2) The people who posted the negative reviews are freshman who will most likely drop out and are bitter because of the difficulty

To comment on that review...

A very small percentage of Tech is greeks. so there is definitely a social life outside of it. Yes, tech is hard but you should expect that. TAs only teach recitation. the food is average yes, but its atlanta and many other places to live. I am a girl, lives next to the interstate and "dangerous" part of Tech and never once felt scared. Yes there is an interstate on east campus, but if you don't want that live on west.

the internet connect is second only to the PENTAGON!!!

Cricket: Seems to be popular lately.
TV: No satellite, but extensive cable line up (115 or so channels)
Internet: Fastest in the world besides the pentagon. I tested it to be:
82624 kb/s Downlink
1111 kb/s uplink
12 ms latency

Torrents: Yes, they can be downloaded.

lol wow runningncirles thats a nice upload... ill have nice ratios for my private sites! ;)
