Hello everyone. I'm only a junior right now, but I've been having my eye on USC for a long time now (it's in my family blood, haha.). Anyway, I have a few questions I would like to get answered.

-Does USC have a preference on standarized tests? (I know everyone says colleges weigh them equally, but I would assume this is not true in all cases.)
-Does USC superscore ACT/SAT scores?
-How does a 33 ACT stand for undergraduate and Baccalaureate/MD Program admissions?
-How do you guys like it at USC? Venues, city life, housing, etc (this is more of a get-to-know USC question)

Thanks everyone!

USC accepts ACT with writing or SAT. They do not have a preference.

USC Superscores the SAT, but not the ACT

A 33 ACT puts you at the top end of the middle 50% of accepted students - which puts you in good shape for admission (depending on the rest of your application, of course).

The Bacc/MD program is very, very, selective, so typically applicants have ACT 34+ or SAT 2250+. If that is your program of interest you might want to try the test(s) again. (Note: An ACT 33 is EXCELLENT - great job! - but the Bacc/MD is very, very, VERY selective )

I’ll let actual students answer this one!

Thank you for the information and input, alamemom. I had no idea the Bacc/MD program was THAT selective, though. I plan to take the ACT again, nonetheless… the SAT hasn’t served me well.

From my experience I’d say you’ll be totally fine getting into the University so I wouldn’t worry about that but I don’t know anything about that program sorry to say. 33 is amazing and don’t let anyone EVER tell you otherwise or that you don’t have a shot, Im serious.

I love USC best decision I’ve ever made, no question. Large GE classes are not fun but once you get more into your major they get way better. Not sure what you mean by venues. Although USC is in downtown LA you sort of live in a Urban Oasis. From my experience people do certainly venture out into LA but not as much as you’d think. Most of social activity on campus takes place on “the row.” I am greek and wont try to sell you on it but honestly its the main social outlet for the University for both girls and guys. I can’t even imagine not being a part of it, definitely wouldn’t love this school without it. Housing freshman year you have to live in dorms, best way to meet people and a ton of fun. New/North is really the best place to live, very social, a blast being so close to all your GIRL AND GUY friends, its honestly pretty nice condition wise compared to other schools. As a sophomore there are more options to choose from - most people start heading to off campus apartments at this point which is what I’m doing next year.

That’s great input, mongoose. Thank you!
