I am planning on transfering some to a private university, but I missed some important dates.
I'm attending CC and am now on break, I have not gotten any recommendations yet.
One college deadline for transfer application is jan 1st, the rest are much later later like march, early april.

What do you guys recommend I do? Should I apply and send in recommendations later? Should I wait till break and then start applying to colleges?

Also a question concerning recommendations, should I be using the common recommendation evaluation form and have the teachers send one to each college I plan on attending?

The short answer to your first three questions is that it's best to have everything done ASAP. Call up the individual schools about their policies for accepting recommendations. Personally, I'd get the recommendations as soon as you possibly can, because you really have no way of knowing how long it's going to take your professors to actually write and send them in.

As for your last question, most colleges have their own recommendation form. Otherwise, it's my understanding that they'd prefer to see a letter written by the professor on official stationary. I've never heard of a common recommendation evaluation form, unless you're talking about something related to the Common Application. Even then, many schools that accept the Common App. have their own supplements for transfers.

I figure I'm kinda gonna apply to all the other schools, get my recommendations at the start of this spring semester, and everything should be good since most deadlines are between march and june. Thanks
