Decision time. I've done some research on studying film at these three schools. Was hoping to get other people's opinions. Thanks!

P.S. Love all three places and would be happy (socially, etc.) at any of them.

BROWN

i'm so jealous. i applied to those three too, got into vassar, wl at wes, and rejected from brown (but then again 60 people from my school applied there so its not saying much). Brown has just as nice a campus as vassar, cooler people, more boys (and less gay ones), more stuff to do, is an ivy, has a great quality of education in anything at all (esp should you chose something other than/ in addition to film) and everyone LOVES it. i have never heard a bad thing about brown. vassar is kind of in the middle of nowhere (not that providence is such a great city, but at least it's a city), smaller, and overall less appealing to me.. the campus tour was kind of lame, their cd rom was a piece of crap... like... look if you go to vassar you can drive around, look at people, go to some more places, look at other people sitting around, and then go to the SUPERMARKET! Yay!

so yeah, brown. i wish i had the choice you have.

Veronique,

I wish there were a way for me to give you my spot at Brown if I don't take it. But VASSAR is a great place! Do you really think it's going to be that bad? The quality of the academics are probably the same, and I think the real differences are just in size and location. And that Ivy/non-Ivy thing, but I don't think that really matters.

Brown is just much better, imo. All three are excellent schools and you can't go wrong.

Veronique the way you talk about Vassar im sure some of the people here who really wanted to go but got WL or denied would be angry.

You sound like it was your last resort.

Yeah. I'm going to Vassar and I'm a little offended.

Of course, I'm a straight guy though so that 4 to 6 ratio will work to my advatange. Maybe we'll hook up, Veronique!

I don't know. Not an expert, but I haven't ever heard much about film studies at Brown. Wesleyan, on the other hand, has a fairly well-known program.

the film program at wesleyan is supposed to be amazing. a lot of people who actually get into the business are wesleyan grads, just type in wesleyan on imdb and there will be lists of wesleyan alums.

Vassar's off campus situation is not hot, but it more than makes up for it on campus. Go Vassar! (See you there.)

If you are interested in film, choose Wesleyan or Vassar over Brown. Brown's film program is notoriously weak.

Yeah, ditto, that. And, fyi, the OP eventually chose Wesleyan. :)
