I'm going to UNCW in the fall and still don't know what I want to major in. I know you don't have to officially decide until sophomore year, but I want to have some idea. I'm interested in film and heard the film studies program at UNCW is great, but I don't know what minor to pair it with. I don't want to end up with a wasted degree and no job. I'm also really interested in anthropology, but again, I don't want to end up with a wasted degree. I guess a nice balance would be a major in film studies with a minor in anthropology, but that's not very realistic. I've heard that creative writing or business would be good minors for film studies, but I just want more opinions on majors in anthropology and film. Even marine biology. I'm all over the place.

If you could do anything in the world for a career, within reason, what would you do?

Film studies is very closely associated with English and other Humanities; I have no clue why one would pair it with business (Film studies is very different from Film school.)

Anthropology is a social science, and biology - human, of course - is a great pairing for it.

A business minor might improve employment prospects.
Creative writing might be relevant if you’re interesting in screenwriting.
Anthropology is also a good pairing with film studies as it might be relevant for the subfield of visual anthropology. [Visual Anthropology](http://www.visualanthropology.net/)
