fin aid internationals

financial aid for internationals: what does it take? Any international who got aid and why do you think you got it?

Try asking the Admissions or Financial Aid offices? There are only a handful of internationals each year (HMC is very small) so I'm not sure you're going to be able to get much information on this forum. Good luck!

thanks.. how about any mudders who knows bits and pieces about fin aid for internationals from their friends?..

International students can get anything they need, up to flight tickets, and room and board

but what will make them give me aid?.. how good is good enough?

Well as far as I remember one student from India got 2390 on SATs and 2400 on her 3 SAT IIs. She got full tuition ride!

Is that the Corporate Scholars Reward? Because if so I highly doubt every Joe from India should be expecting the same prize.

Since Im chiming in I mas well put down my opinion. From what I understand, applying for financial aid as an intl typically reduces your chance for exceptance since a college usually only sets aside a certain amount for international students, so they cant promise the same need-blind admission policy as everybody else. As far as getting the money you need, I have no clue.

Remind me to never do a post right after waking up again - "exceptance" lol.

Right. So, one person got a good financial deal, and she had good test scores. However, don't expect that acing your SATs alone will get you the same full ride. She must have been pretty darn impressive in other areas as well.

Well I never denied that did I? :p

How about need-based aid?

So what does it take????? Other than good SATs?.. Sorry for asking an obvious question..
