If I do not need aid or any form of help from a school (private school is what I mean), will that help my chances of getting in? Since I will be paying without any aid or taking from them.

All thoughts are welcomed

Depends on the school. Schools with need-blind admissions (which is most schools) won’t care. You’d have an advantage at need-aware schools. What schools are on your list?

LMU is my top choice

Depends on the shcool. You should look up the page for the particular school and see if it is need-blind or need-aware. Need-aware means it will help you in your case if you don’t apply for financial aid.

Thank you, I had no idea about those two terms. Does anyone know which is LMU?

You can look it up on their admissions site or call/email the school.

<a href=“Need-blind admission - Wikipedia”>Need-blind admission - Wikipedia;

There is a list of need blind schools if that helps

Beware of Wiki. And, after 2008, some schools changed their position. A few then changed back.

In all cases, best to check the school’s web info or call- why risk the wrong assumption?
