Other kids in college is a big factor, I'm not sure about location. They should factor that in, but I can't say. You can just call the financial aid office and ask.

Does ND ever give $$ to people who don't qualify for FA? BC my family won't...we have everything paid off and my parents manage/save their money really well, so it looks like we can afford much more than we actually can/will be able to pay.

they'll pay for in-state UC, everything else is up to me (which at ND would be like 20k per year). can i expect anything besides loans (like grants and such)? i always hear about ND's great FA, it'd be nice to experience it for once lol...

I think ND's need formula is slightly more generous that some arguably peer institutions such as BC, WashU etc. and would be interested if others concur.
But at the margins the aid will be more in loans and campus employment than grant in aid.

There's always a way. If you don't get need-based money, you can always get a student loan and it becomes your debt when you graduate and have income. Depends on how bad you want Notre Dame.

I'm in the same boat as the person whose parent are good savers. My parents are kindas frugal and the save a lot, and they have a good amount of money invested in the stock market. I hope this doesn't come back to hurt me, because we arent super-rich.
