I'm in a 4 unit class that I'm not having a good time in (session C) and i was wondering what would happen to my financial aid if I were to drop it and add a 4 unit class in Session D? What if the class I add is 3 units?

As long as you have 6 units during the summer, you should you get financial aid (if you qualify). You can take these 6 units anytime during the summer. For instance, you can take a class in session C, and in session D, and as long as it’s at least 6 units, you’ll get aid.

Wait i dont think you understand my question or maybe im not understanding your response, let me rephrase my question:

Session C just started, and I am enrolled in two classes. Two 4 unit classes. If I drop one 4 unit class, i will have to owe the school money (since i had already received financial aid for 8 units worth of classes).
But If i were to add another 4 unit class, say in Session D. Would it be a smooth transition where I wouldnt have to pay the school anything nor would I receive more aid? What if the class I add is only 3 units? Then do i have to refund 1 unit worth of aid?

If you drop one of your classes from session C, and replace it with one from D, then it should be a decently smooth transition. You may owe some money, a couple hundred dollars, if the session D class costs less than the class you drop.

It might not look very smooth on the e-bill though (it’s always messy). As a general recommendation, I’d add the Session D course before dropping the Session C course. Although it probably doesn’t matter, I wouldn’t want to go under the 6 unit mark for too long.
