Final Committee

How do we find out if our applications made the final committee meeting?

hahah, do you honestly think they would tell anyone? there are some admits who don't go to committee anyways because they know that they are clear admits. I would NOT ask that. If you are deferred though, chances are that you did. Considering that Harvard can take 5K to 7K people to committee in early round, 3K is not as bad.

I don't know for sure about Harvard, but a friend of mine who applied to Yale found out through his Guidance Counselor - she called the regional admissions officer and found not only his committee status but also the specific reasons why he was deferred. I guess it's general advice - ask your counselor for help. =)

ummm...is it looked down on if you get your counselor to call to find out why you were defered?

I don't know why but it seems to be a little aggressive....

Um guys- Harvard rejects less than 5% of all applications each year- unlike Stanford, penn and columbia which reject nearly 30-40% of all ED applicants. Just putting things in context.
