Barrons: yes, currently planning a bio major...but if she is anything like her mom they will have to hire a personal courier to lug her records around campus because she will fall in love with every new thing she discovers and change her major umpteen times..!

simba, Well, we're still workin' on it....but I'll post as soon as it's official!! Thanks for asking. I am so happy for your son! Big hugs to both him and you. love, ~berurah

Princeton because of $$$$$ in a full ride over HY.

But he will be on his way off to a summer volunteer work in Africa for working with AIDS patient.

Martie, jamimom, soozie, momsdream, and northstar mom thanks for all your support to teach this old dog about college admissions.

XIGGI: no board is complete without your help. We would have gone ED and could have been in a mess. Thank for being a patient one with a oldman with limited writing skills.

Congrats to your son on Princeton! I hadn't seen any post from you and was wondering what happened even though I knew that there were going to be some wonderful opportunities for your son. Glad the $$ worked out also.

Chinaman:
Congratulations! How the heck did you get full tuition at Prep school and Princeton? There are some of us who are very, very, very envious....

Thanks. I do not have anything concrete to add that is why I am quiet. To me $$$$$ are more important than prestige. I hope my kids think same way.

My personal belief is that in the end one has to work hard to go anywhere even after college.

More than GPAs and SATs score in my very narrow opinion, passion about ECS makes new opportunities and kids learn more to interact with other people. It makes once personality better as you learn from fellow students and teachers.

I was referring more to the $$$$ than the admissions! S did fine with the so called admissions lottery. Unfortunately (for us) the $$$ just didn't follow. :)

Chinaman, you give me too much credit. The real star is the BOARD istelf that allows collective wisdom to blossom. And your ocntributions of common senses and directness are more valuable than any statistics.

Congratulations to all for such fine and sensitive selections.

PS On a lighter note, I would love to see the first meetings of Simba, Chinaman, and the respective Simba Jr and Chinaman Jr. Anyone familiar with some of our past political discussions will understand! Come to think about it, could Simba have been anything else than the proud father of a tiger? :)

We are all lucky that you are here! It is your children (and you) that enrich all of our lives here. Your son will be a real asset to Princeton. I hope you realize that I was just kidding. I have been following your posts for awhile. Your son sounds very much like mine.......
